A question you can ask yourself, in these most unprecedented times
HOW CAN YOU LOVE YOURSELF TODAY?
Take the deepest breath you’ve taken all day, and ask yourself: What is it that I need right now? Think about how your physical body is feeling. Notice the thoughts that are taking over. Remind yourself that there’s nothing you can do, in this now moment, to change anything happening outside of you. But you can go inside. You can breathe, and once you get quiet, maybe you’ll hear something. Maybe you’ll realize you need to stretch. To move your body in a way that feels good to you. Maybe you need to sit still a little longer. Or drink a cup of tea. Call a friend. Read a book. Write a poem. Go outside and hug a tree. Thank the universe for your health. Forgive someone. Recognize how you’re judging yourself and others in this most unprecedented time—and let that go. Fear is all around us and inside us right now. That’s ok. Accept where you’re at. Talk to yourself how you would your best friend, your mother, your child. Feel into how you can, in this moment, love yourself a little bit more.
